Meet David Shaw, the owner of North Lakes Quality Meats. David started his career in 1975 as a clean-up kid at a Melbourne Butcher shop before becoming an apprentice Butcher. David now has nearly 50 years experience Butchering in small businesses.

Over his career Dave has owned and operated several stores. His first store was a small shop located in Alderley and he more recently owned two stores; one located in Arana Hills and the other in Newmarket on Brisbane’s north side until selling both. Dave took over Willow’s inside Westfield North Lakes in 2022, rebranding it North Lakes Quality Meats.

North Lakes Quality Meats employs 13 staff members from the local community made up of approximately six Butchers, one apprentice, four counterhands and casual clean-up staff.

David participates in national competitions such as the Sausage King competition and Butcher Wars hosted by Meat Stock.

In 2016 David’s shop in Arana Hills won the 2016 AMIC retail excellence and shop of the year award.
